INVISIBLE DESTRUCTION

​“Invisible destruction” series has been created during the art residency in the Ukrainian House in Przemysl, Poland. It immerses us in the world of physiological processes which are happening with people whether they see the root cause or not.  

​

I research the topic of the psychosomatic illnesses caused by stress. Human bodies, like buildings, become objects of destruction, not only physically but also psychologically, due to the stress caused by traumatic experiences, including the military aggression and uncertainty. Our body, our first home, which may seem strong and stable to us, turns out to be fragile in the face of difficult emotions and stressful situations.​ This series holds a mirror up to us so that we can deeply reflect on our inner and physical state.

The copper wire which penetrates the body of works is symbolising the destructive processes in the human body. Copper is a soft but sharp material highlighting an illusion of control on our body. It is ours but outer experiences still influence deeper than we imagine.
